19th Century Ebonised Chinoiserie Chair with Canework Seat, Mother-of-Pearl Inlay and Parcel Gilt Decoration
A decorative piece only! A beautifully detailed 19th century ebonised chair in the Chinoiserie style, richly adorned with parcel gilt details and mother-of-pearl inlay. The frame is finished in a lustrous black lacquer, complemented by a woven canework seat. An elegant and visually striking piece, ideal for use as a decorative accent.
Height: 82 cm (32¼"), Width: 37.5 cm (14½"), Depth: 45.75 cm (18"), Seat height: 40.5 cm (16")
Date of manufacture
19th Century
For decorative use only. The chair has undergone several old repairs which are not structurally sound enough for practical seating. Cosmetically, however, it remains highly appealing, retaining its original finish, delicate gilt highlights, and fine mother-of-pearl decoration.
As with all antique furniture, minor signs of age and use are to be expected and contribute to the charm and character of the piece.
