Early 18th Century Joined Oak Refectory Table
A fine and robust joined oak refectory dining table, early 18th century, England. The table features a wide three-plank top, approximately 183 cm in length, with a rich, golden-brown patina developed over centuries of use. The breadboard ends are pegged. Clear evidence of period hand tools. Below, a nulled frieze rests on baluster-turned supports with block feet, united by a peripheral stretcher, giving both strength and visual balance.
This is a genuine early 18th-century example of vernacular English craftsmanship, notable for its presence, colour, and originality. Well suited to both domestic and commercial interiors.

Very good for its age. Structurally sound and ready for use, with age-related surface wear and marks. Retains all original timbers. Excellent colour and patina with a well-developed old wax polish. A darker patch towards one end of the top is now seamlessly polished in.
