Pair Decorative Painted Hepplewhite Style Shield Back Chairs with Parcel Gilt
A decorative pair of painted shield-back chairs in the Hepplewhite taste. The elegant backs are formed with oval frames incorporating finely shaped splats and a Prince of Wales feather crest motif, highlighted with parcel gilt detailing.
The chairs stand on square tapering legs with fluted decoration to the front, the frames finished in a soft painted ivory tone. The seats are upholstered in a pale green woven fabric which complements the painted frames and gives the chairs a light and refined appearance.
Graceful in proportion and attractive in presentation, these chairs work well as bedroom, dressing room or occasional seating and display very well as a pair.
