Pair of late 18th Century chairs of the Chippendale country vernacular. These chairs constructed in beautifully figured solid elm feature a pierced splat back. Drop in upholstered seats, recently recovered in hand-dyed leather hide. Raised on square chamfered legs, supported by H-stretchers.
An attractive, high quality and well presented pair of country chairs. In good condition and ready for use.

Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - These chairs are in a very good condition commensurate with their age. Some odd minor marks and blemishes. Some minor old and extinct worm holes, typical of elm antique furniture, that does not affect the sturdiness of the chair in any way, and now treated as way of precaution. No loose joints. Recently upholstering in the traditional method, finished in hand-dyed leather hide. Good colour throughout the frames, very good polish and beautiful aged patina. Very much ready for use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
